​​​OUR HISTORY!​

The history of A Place of Worship cannot be mentioned unless we first give a brief highlight of our anointed man of God, Pastor Juan Bellard.

Pastor Juan hails from a small country town called “Sunset Louisiana” by way of Churchport, Louisiana. Born with yellow jaundice and the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, the devil fought him even at birth.



Growing up in the city of New Orleans ,and attending East Jefferson High School the enemy attempted to destroy him through molestation, abuse and rejection he felt invisible by the way others treated him as though he was a nobody. However behind the scenes God was doing an awesome work in his life, preparing him for the call of Ministry.

After numerous mistakes, being criticized, persecuted, rejected, despised, wounded and broken by people whom he thought was there for him, but instead turned their backs and walked away. Pastor Juan knew he could not turn his back on God but rather get in his face.

He learned that life was full of hurt, pain disappointment, many trials, tribulations, challenges and unfair opportunities. He could not run from any of them he had to face the uncertainty for the work of God to win souls for the Kingdom of God.

From a very early age, he accepted Christ in his life; He always had a love for church praising and worshipping God. Pastor Juan sung in many community choirs, he had a heart to work in whatever capacity he could and he always took the initiative to do so in whatever church he attended.
 
Pastor Juan had many experiences in his young life with God Almighty, about saving souls, teaching and preaching the word of God.

At the age of 17, he accepted the call of God. By the time he was twenty years of age; he had traveled and ministered across the United States boldly sharing his powerful testimony.

In January 1990. Through prayer, our very own Pastor Juan accepted his call as Pastorate during a revival in Chicago. God told Pastor Juan that there was a tremendous need for higher praise, new life and restoration amidst his people, giving the ministry it’s first name “New Life Temple of Restoration.”

Shortly after having a name for the ministry. He started a bible class in the home of one of his aunts. As a result of fasting and prayer, the ministry soon grew from two members, including his mother and his aunt to twenty members by the next Saturday. But even with the growth, fear subsequently gripped Pastor Juan causing him to believe that he was not ready for the responsibility.

In 1991, in this phase of his life, he was led to the Lion of Judah Ministry in New Orleans, LA where Bishop Rhonda Evans was the presiding Pastor. He remained under the leadership of Bishop Rhonda Evans’ tutelage until God echoed in his ear, “NOW IS THE TIME” Upon his second attempt at pastoring; eighty members were added to his Church before they moved in to a building in Kenner, LA.

Unfortunately the enemy fought against the ministry even the more, and they lost the building, However, the Lord led Pastor Juan and his church to the New City Temple Spiritual Church of Christ, which happily opened its doors, under the leadership of Pastor Willie O’Neil. When their season ended, God then led the New Life Temple of Restoration family to the home of Pastor Juan where they cried out and prayed for new direction. God answered with yet another move to Metairie, LA.

Pastor Juan is a restorer, not a condemner our anointed man of God  preaches and teaches the “Uncompromising Word of God. fit for the Kingdom of God, Equipped and Heavily Armed with the Five Fold Ministry. He always says ”If God did not kill me when I was in sin, in the drug life homosexual lifestyle, being molested bound to a witchcraft family and church folks, being homeless eating out of trash cans, living in abandoned motels and cars, shoplifting and sales of drugs then  he can’t kill me now.

In September of 1998, God spoke to Prophet Juan once again about moving… this time to Los Angeles, CA and to him that was not an option he did not want to move to Calif... Many people felt that he was in error and openly voiced their opinions. Although they did not understand, it didn’t stop the Prophet from obeying God, and in March of 1999, Prophet Juan reluctantly moved to L.A and we were elated he did.



The decision proved to be the right one after all New Life Temple of Restoration once again evolved in December 1999 with two members and soon began to grow New Life Temple of Restoration celebrated three years In the Greater Los Angeles area. Our first location was at 8926 S. Western Ave. Los Angeles, Ca 90044 In April 2001 God opened doors for us to move into our own building at 2928 West Vernon Ave. Los Angles, Ca 90008, .  Due to its rapid increase in membership, allowing us to have multiple services, a popular radio ministry, unique Outreach Ministry, and powerful Praise Team, and one of the baddest Choirs this side of Glory, an anointed Ministerial Board, an experienced Mother’s Board, dedicated Usher Board, and an impressive Youth Department are just some of the aspects of ministry enjoyed by all who either joined or just visited. Yes the New Life Family had come a long way “We had some good days, and we’ve had some dreadful days .God said this 2928 would be a place memorial.



In January 2002, God instructed us through Bishop Lucious Thompson, it was time to change our Name to “New Angeles International Ministries” because of the new thing” God was doing and going to do in this ministry. Upon the changing of the name, we continued to grow rapidly and were granted our 501© (3), and yet again the enemy fought us tremendously.



In spite of the fights and trials we were against, we moved from our own building and joined fellowship with Christian Tabernacle at 9608 S .Figueroa Los Angeles, Ca 90003 where we lost some and picked up some along the way.  In March 2003 we move from 9608 S. Figueroa to 11209 S. Figueroa St Los Angeles, Ca  90003 still with the fights, God continued to move in and through us. After the Church catching fire it was truly a sign from God it was time to move on and in May of 2004, we prayed for direction and God answered our prayers again and sent us even so to 1050 E. 50th Street Los Angeles, Ca 90011 another temporary location, to rebuild our lives and our ministry. This truly was and is still”THE MINISTRY THE DEVIL SAID WOULDN’T TAKE PLACE For even in this place it became a memorial.



In the year of 2007 the Lord spoke to Prophet about another assignment, transition and a name change for the ministry not mentioning that vision to anyone. He later made mention to a few of us that we had 1 year to get it together because his assignment in Calif. was officially up. In January of 2008 he began implementing the transition and the name change.



In February 2008, seven ministers were ordained and elevated to their respected positions and the name was changed to” God’s Prevailing Ministries”. In May of 2008 Prophet Juan asked several leaders of the ministry to go with him to Atlanta.  As we journeyed on that trip the enemy didn’t want us to begin that assignment. Having to divert our planned trip to Birmingham Al we flew into New Orleans while our luggage went ahead of us to Birmingham and  In spite of that, for whatever reason the pilot decided to take another route, causing us to run into some turbulence which resulted in  that plane taking a serious dive. Some of us prayed and called on the name of Jesus certain that destiny was on that plane we were confident that plane was not going down.  Upon arriving safely the Prophet called his Mother to pick us up from the airport she allowed us to use her van to continue our trip.



Still having to pick up our luggage that had gone before us Prophet  proceeded  to journey on to Birmingham as the man of God was driving us to Birmingham to retrieve our luggage it rained and stormed the whole time. The spirit of the Lord fell on the Prophet while he was driving and we all went into to” warfare” and the storm calm down, It was an awesome thing. In spite of all that we still made it. We were on an assignment to spy out the land, of which we did leaving some timbers behind..

As we traveled back to New Orleans the Lord place it upon the Prophet’s heart to go by Mama Mammie Green a legend who was instrumental in the Prophet being where he is today. That was such an awesome experience Mama Green in her mid 80’s prayed and ministered to each one of us. One by one and name by name there wasn’t a dry eye in the house and then Prophet began to pray for her as we interceded.
                               
In April of 2008 Prophet began to give instruction as God gave to him. He was told that the way was made and that it was going to be bumpy in the beginning but our prayers was going to carry us through. And it was just that. Leaders began to leave Los Angeles in August 2008, and from September to January 2009 we were rocking and rolling and to no avail all those that followed the Prophet found jobs.
 
To no avail we started fellowshipping with our other Churches as God’s Prevailing Ministries on the first Sunday in November 2008 and In December 2008 we began fellowshipping with Grace and Peace/ Miracle Revival Assemblies under the leadership Of Chief Apostle J.Q. Lockett.  On February 1st, 2009  we had our first gathering of God’s Prevailing Ministries at the home of the Prophet in the city of Atlanta, Ga.  In August 2009  we walked into a shared Church building at 1403 Northwest Dr Atlanta, Ga. 30318 in which we had our first monthly fellowship service and midnight musical on 11/13/09.  To the honor and glory to God we just celebrated one year in this city. Some of us drove 37 hours, 2100 plus miles while others flew 4 hours 23 minutes we made it and are determined to fulfill the assignment that God as called for us for returning to Calif.  Is not an option. For we are in pursuit of our purpose driven by desire and were highly motivated and destined to succeed.  On October 28,2008 As Prophet Juan and Pastor Lakey journeyed  37 hours to Atlanta “A Place of Worship was given to the Prophet.  God spoke and said “I give you “A place of Worship (work-ship)”and a new name was formed, therefore we celebrate with our leader for “A Place of Worship". 

  
We’ve picked up some along the way in this first year with the anticipation of growing in a super-natural way. For there is a "clarion call" and we’re calling all survivors that they may be restored. There are hurting ears in this city that has been and are waiting to hear what God is saying through this great man of God.  

We, “A place of Worship", walked into our new place of Worship the first Sunday of December 6, 2009, t 1840 E. Washington Rd East Point, Ga 30344. It was a prophetic Sunday where God used the man of God to speak prophetically into our lives.  We, not realizing that the first Sunday in December 1999 New Life Temple of  Restoration in Los Angeles, Calif. was started and there we were this first and last first Sunday in December 2009 A Place of Worship began. “Praise God”
